I’m not a big fan of posting the works of others on this site. I think I’ve done it one other time with a YouTube video of an early Kodachrome film test. But I am a fan of Alfred Hitchcock. So I’m going to indulge myself.
The following video, “Eyes of Hitchcock,” comes from the folks at The Criterion Collection and was created by the Vimeo user, kogonada. It’s a nifty mash-up of actors from various Alfred Hitchcock films staring wide-eyed at the camera and into the film-goer. It’s a nicely done piece and runs just under two minutes.
Janet Leigh’s Marion Crane post-larcenous gaze/smirk from “Psycho” freaks me out every time I see it, without fail. And Joseph Cotten’s sideways glance from “Shadow Of A Doubt” revealing Uncle Charlie’s psychotic nature is timeless.
