The Denver Broncos raised eyebrows when they selected quarterback Tim Tebow with their first pick of the 2010 NFL draft. Many Broncos fans loved the selection, while many NFL pundits felt it was folly. Those opposing views of Tim Tebow typified his his tenure in Denver and grew to colossal proportions during the 2011 NFL season.

On paper, Tebow posted an unremarkable 8-5 record as Denver’s starting quarterback. But seven of the wins were either fourth quarter comebacks or overtime wins. His No. 15 jersey was a NFL best-seller in 2011, second only to Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and ahead of league superstars Tom Brady and Drew Brees.

Tebow’s time with the Broncos ended the following offseason when he was traded to the New York Jets after Denver signed free agent quarterback Peyton Manning. Ironically, the last pass Tebow completed at Denver’s Invesco Field was an 80-yard touchdown pass on the first play of overtime for a stunning Broncos playoff win against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver’s first playoff win in six seasons.
