I was heading back to The Pueblo Chieftain offices from an earlier assignment just after 2 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2008 when scanner traffic indicated there was a significant event unfolding in Pueblo’s Union Avenue Historic District requiring Police, Fire, and ambulances. A devastating explosion had torn through two businesses on Union Ave. near C Street: the Branch Inn restaurant and a shop next-door, A Classic Boutique. The following gallery is my take from that event.
Navigating the gallery is easy. Clicking the arrow right of the gallery moves you from image to image. If keyboard navigation is more to your liking, click the image area on the screen, then use the arrows on your keyboard to toggle through the gallery.
The Branch Inn was a Pueblo Historical part of history. I wish I had more photos of the place. How many times, friends played pool and talked with Joe-Joe.
I took some photos of the aftermath …
Love the shot you took from the roof.
About a week later on Pine Street close to Mickey D’s off Northern a mans home blew up because of a gas leak, he was not at home.
Thanks
Jim
