I’ve always found the home at 220 West Orman, here in Pueblo, interesting. It’s a couple blocks from our humble abode and it’s just so different from any of the homes in neighborhood. It’s got this lush ivy running up almost the entirety of the front of the house, giving it an English manor kind of look. It reminds me a bit of Santa Rosa Junior College’s Analy Hall and Tauzer Gym, too. Underneath all that ivy is a four-level brick home of “above average quality,” built in 1912, according to the Pueblo County Assessor’s website.
Monica doesn’t care for it; she feels it’s overgrown, is probably causing structural problems, and thinks all that ivy is a haven for pests, rats and the like. I’m not so sure but I’d have to concede, opening that front door looks like it could be problematic.
I photographed the house in mid-October and again on Nov. 5. and the comparison illustrates the swift transformation occurring as the days have grown cooler and shorter here in the Steel City.
