The baseball and softball fields at Colorado State University, Pueblo are getting a $3.3 million facelift. The privately funded project includes upgraded press boxes, new field lighting, and sound systems. The baseball facility will get new synthetic turf, renovated dugouts, and a new scoreboard.
The 2020 seasons for baseball and softball were cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The CSUP baseball team only played 16 of their 31 scheduled games while the softball team played 22 out of 50 games. Barring another COVID suspension, the CSUP 2021 baseball season is scheduled to open March 5. The softball team is slated to play their first game Feb 27.
It’ll be a crowded calendar; the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, which CSUP is a member, bumped most Fall 2020 sports, including football, soccer, and volleyball, to a Spring 2021 schedule as well.
