It’s over. The relationship I had with Polaroid Spectra film that began with shooting a self-portrait with a Spectra Pro nearly 25 years ago in the southern California High Desert ended when I pushed the shutter release on my Macro 5 camera as I photographed a rose June 28, 2020.

The current incarnation of Polaroid announced last fall they had given up on further development of their Spectra line of films, unable to find “a simple fix” to mesh Land-era Spectra cameras with current versions of Polaroid Spectra film.
