Monica and I went to a first birthday party for Antonio Morabito, the son of our friends Joe and Sara Morabito, earlier this month at a local pizzeria.

During a lull in the action, Joe fed a bottle to his son. It was this quiet moment amongst the chattering of family and friends and the electronic harmonies of the video games.
I made a picture of father and son with the Polaroid, using some Fuji black-and-white film. After asking Monica to count to fifteen, I peeled the film, separating the positive from the negative, and gave the picture to Joe.
I kept the negative and scanned it on the computer a few days later.
I’m not the most deft shooter when it comes to making pictures with a rangefinder. And there’s more than one technical shortcoming with the image.
But I do like this.
