Not a lot of people know my wife Monica is a New Years baby. She was born at Torrejon Air Base in Madrid, Spain. This year was her 50th birthday.

Monica doesn’t embrace birthdays like I do (I like stretching them out over the course of three or four days–a birthday fest, if you will). And she wasn’t terribly thrilled about turning 50. But she was pleased that her father Mañuel came down from Niwot to help celebrate the milestone.
